In response to the growing challenges around workplace well-being—especially among younger employees—SICOM is taking the lead with the launch of a brand-new space dedicated to relaxation and reconnection. Located on the 11th floor of the Head Office, adjacent to the cafeteria, the SICOM Living Lab is a multi-purpose area mainly accessible during breaks.
This initiative is built around an open approach to mental health and reflects the increasing need among employees to disconnect during their busy day, recharge in a calming setting, and enjoy meaningful social and professional interactions.
The Living Lab is a collaborative experimentation space where employees can connect, browse a selection of books through the Book Nest initiative, and thrive in a healthier work environment. The modular layout allows the space to open onto the cafeteria, turning it into a venue for training sessions or other group activities.
This project also comes with a fully renovated cafeteria, featuring a new ceiling with state-of-the-art air conditioning units, a redesigned a social bar, a waste sorting station and a refreshed common space.
Outside, a small terrace now hosts a rainwater harvesting system for watering the organic plants introduced in 2024. A composting station will soon be added on the rooftop to complement this sustainable approach.
All these improvements are a testament to SICOM’s ongoing commitment to employee well-being, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which promote meaningful, innovative, and sustainable work environments.
The SICOM Living Lab and revamped cafeteria were officially unveiled to employees on 22 April.
