As we celebrate today the International Volunteer Day, the SICOM Group is very proud to share that a group of staff came together on the 1st of December to share their time and good humour with children attending rehabilitation treatment at Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital in Port-Louis. This small get-together represented a real opportunity for our colleagues to interact with parents and children suffering from varying degree of psychomotor impairment and hence, understand the challenges that they face in daily life.
The Christmas show, organised by the hospital personnel, proved to be very successful among the children while SICOM volunteers ensured the F&B service and distributed gifts. Our members spent quality time at the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, and this goes beyond compassion and solidarity.
This initiative, which also heralds SICOM’s hands-on approach towards various community projects, follows the Group CEO’s commitment to drive positive changes through volunteerism. There has been a great response from employees to be part of the programme and the Organising Committee is already looking forward to 2023 for other volunteering activities.
